Introduction to Flame-Retardant Nonwoven Fabric

Flame-retardant nonwoven fabric is a functional textile material that combines the lightweight and flexible properties of nonwoven fabrics with efficient flame-retardant and fireproof performance, and is widely used in fire protection, home furnishing, transportation, construction and many other fields.
Made from chemical fibers such as polyester and polypropylene or natural fibers as the base material, it is produced through post-finishing flame-retardant processes (e.g., padding and spraying flame retardants) or raw material modification processes (adding flame-retardant masterbatches for spinning). When exposed to fire, it can quickly inhibit combustion reactions: it is not easy to ignite, the flame spread speed is extremely slow, and it can effectively reduce smoke emission and toxic gas generation. After the flame is removed, it can self-extinguish rapidly, fundamentally reducing fire hazards and spread risks.
Compared with traditional flame-retardant fabrics, flame-retardant nonwoven fabric has the advantages of light weight, good air permeability and convenient processing. It can be processed into rolls or sheets of different thicknesses and widths according to requirements, and can also achieve composite functions such as waterproofing, antibacterial and antistatic. At present, it is widely used in fire suit linings, automotive interiors, building insulation layers, furniture and home textile linings, cable cladding and other scenarios, making it an ideal new material that balances safety protection and practical performance.
